11/27/2023 0 Comments Buzzfeed friends thanksgiving episodes![]() Summary: All the friends recount their worst Thanksgivings. I could watch this episode forever, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of it. Chandler's line "I win, you suck, I rule all, mini-wave and celebration to me!" is particularly unforgettable, as is his dance when he tackles Joey. Save for the Dutch girl's RUSSIAN accent, everything in this episode's flawless. Phoebe flashes Chandler, Ross pulls down Monica's underwear, Phoebe starts circling Ross while screaming aimlessly, Rachel wraps her arms around Joey's neck, and Monica and Phoebe start pulling her legs so Joey can't score…Yeah, that's what actually happens. Everything the six friends do to win is top notch comedy gold. Opinion: This episode is amazing for making a match of football, friggin' football, so funny. ![]() Plus, Joey and Chandler compete for the attention of Margha, a Dutch girl with a Russian accent. Summary: The friends compete in a match of football, which turns into a heavy-blown competition between the boys and girls, all for the Geller Cup - an ugly troll nailed to a 2×4. But is it one of the best Thanksgiving episodes? Not so much. Is it a great episode? Yes, almost every Friends episode is. The funniest part of the episode, however, was Monica's overprotectiveness of the plates, and of course, the petty fight Rachel and Amy got into. Plus, Joey's obvious character flanderization played a huge part in his subplot, and it's actually annoying how childish and idiotic this one character trait became over the course of the series. First, the entire fight about who gets Emma if Ross and Rachel die felt unnecessary, and except for a few laughs, wasn't even as funny as you'd expect. I thought this episode was pretty average for a Thanksgiving special and there are several reasons why. ![]() Opinion: I should start by saying the ninth season is just not my favorite. Monica is super anxious about her beloved fragile wedding china, and Joey reaches to Phoebe for help about lying - he can't lie without somehow involving raccoons. Summary: Rachel invites her obnoxious sister, Amy, over for Thanksgiving dinner and she manages to make everyone regret her arrival. The only amusing side of this episode is Ross trying to list all the 50 states before he can eat turkey, and obviously, Joey's "moo" point. So the fact they actually got together here is not pleasing. Plus, Tag and Rachel's relationship is right up there with Joey and Rachel and Joey and Charlie as the worst relationships on the show. But suddenly, Chandler changes his mind about dogs and the whole episode is a waste. We don't actually see the friends eating or preparing food, all we see is a misguided plot line where Chandler hates dogs, (wtf?) so Monica and Phoebe have to hide Clunkers from him. It's not that it's a bad episode, it's just that the Thanksgiving feel is lost on it. Opinion: This is the worst Thanksgiving episode, I'd say, by a pretty big margin. Rachel invites Tag, her assistant, to Thanksgiving dinner and soon, the two begin a thankfully short-lived relationship. Also, Ross is revealed to hate ice cream, while also being involved in a hilarious subplot where he tries, but fails, to list all 50 states. Summary: In this episode, Chandler reveals he doesn't like dogs, much to Phoebe's dismay, who is babysitting her friend's dog.
